It has been almost a month since we reunited. Things are going alright, though we do have to learn how to get along with one another again. There were a few crashes here and there on our pet peeves, which mainly have to do with his spending habit and my Internet habit.

I don’t like him spending so much money on his toys and collectibles, because I think we should save up money to buy a house. My habit of leaving the Internet on when I am not in front of the computer annoyed him. He would close all the pages that I left open on purpose. I got upset having to logon and open them again when I wanted to check on new opps for paid posts. I think it’s just him being paranoiac, never have problems with spyware, virus or keylogger even though I have been leaving the pages open for the last two years that I have been working online.

We have started talking about looking for a place to move since Jan 2008. After procrastinating for nearly four months, the big boy finally put his acts together and started to look at places for rental seriously 2-3 weeks ago. He found a house a few days before the current lease expired!

It took him a while to find a rental place in this small university town because most of them have off street parking. He only want to look at apartment or houses that have garage or carports because he didn’t want to leave his car in the snow when winter comes. I can understand the concern, but it really doesn’t have to leave until last minute like this, for many nicer apartments in this university town are fully booked until next fall! It’s a very stressful process and not to mention the uncertainties !

The big boy has finally found a place that he likes. He hasn’t put down a deposit because he wants to make sure both of us agree to live at this place. :-)

He sent me no picture of the inside, just a picture outside of the house. I don’t even know how the interior of the house looks like and whether they have modern furniture or old furniture inside. Am I supposed to decide based on this two pictures?

apartment to let

Yeah, picture outside of the garage! Who is going to live in the garage? Not me.

When is he going to learn this? He doesn’t want to learn the fact that his wife is a visual person, no amount of descriptions on the phone can replace the thousands words that a picture speaks!

We were talking on the phone, discussing about booking the air ticket to IL. The big boy wanted me to land on certain days when he is less busy or when he is off work. I don’t remember all the constraints he listed because my brain is not a micro sd flash memory card! Excuse me, does he think I fly the airplane and can decide which day to land?

Anyway, if he can’t pick me up at the airport, rent a car or arrange for an airport limousine is equally convenient! It’s not a big deal, no need to put so many constraints on the departure and arrival dates, which will hike up the airfare unnecessary.

The big boy is looking for an apartment since three months ago and he is still “looking”! I don’t know of anyone who takes month to find an apartment, do you? How on earth he needs to constantly stresses me over things that are supposed to or could only get done by him alone!

Whether it’s filing the paperwork, deciding the memory we need for the laptop or looking for an apartment. I would have just kicked his butt and took over the tasks, instead of waiting for him to spring his damned ass into action! But I am stuck here after the surgery, can’t even drive around, let alone flying over to kick his butts.

If there is anything good can come out from the recent cancer scare, it scared the big boy into action! :-)

I have nagged and nagged about including me in his employer provided health care plan or get me  travel medical insurance before the health insurance kicks in. Since I am not there in IL yet and it never seems urgent, he just kept procrastinating it. Actually all he had to do just tell the human resource personnel about his intention and provide some basic data about his wife.

When the first pathologist’s report came back recommended further investigation of possibility of cancer, he sprang into action and got me on his health insurance plan within three days!

If we were gold coins collectors, we might be able to sell them to pay for the medical bills, but too bad we aren’t. Even a simple surgery and the subsequent diagnostic tests to identify malignancy has cost us more than 10k out of pocket. At least he knows cancer treatment without insurance coverage can wreck us financially and reason for many of the bankruptcy cases filed in America!!

When I am mad with the big boy, I have the habit of beating around the bushes and not addressing the issues. While he stays blurry and has idea what caused it, he can tell the hell fire is burning.:-)

Who wants to be a wife who gets angry all the times?  See, for more than a month, I got all sort of excuses for not filling up a one-page form, now he says he will do it tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow will come.

The big boy works hard and makes good money, but often wonders where his money has gone at the end of the month. He jumped on board with me, started a budget last month, so that he could spend his money on paper with purpose.

He busted his monthly budget last month, excuse being it’s the first time and it’s holiday season, but he did it again, buying “stuffs” that he didn’t put down in the budget. This is typical of the big boy, he will do things to please me but turn around do it his way behind my back. Saying I am very frustrated with his irresponsible attitude is an understatement.

He kept saying we are going to take a vacation next year when he accumulates enough vacation time, but the way he is spending money, I doubt we can afford to have a nice vacation.

I’m trying to think of what to get hubby for Christmas.Hubby had sent me some money, he said I can buy anything with it.But, I’m just not sure whether we should even exchange gifts at all.

We are saving money for all the filings that we have to do and for the move to IL. The expenses of the migration process would be several thousand dollars by the time we are done!

If I were going to get hubby a gift I thought of maybe getting him a new pair of shoes he can wear in the snow. His current shoes are new and they still works. But it would be nice to get him a pair of nicer looking shoes. Can’t afford any of the designer shoes saw online, unless if I can find a discount code on Coupon Money for that particular design. Or I could send him some money, he could go find a similar pair at the discount store, I think it would be a gift that he would appreciate. What do you think?

We pretty much want each other for Christmas and it’s too bad that we have to wait for a few more months.

This picture must be taken last year around December (see the Christmas tree?). He was back to Illinois for 2-3 months. Before he went back there, he was about 190lbs. I think in this picture, he was already putting on at least 10 lbs. With a height of 6′4″, he looked rather slim except for the beer belly. In fact, he claimed that he never was this slim since he was 20. That’s what 2 years of tropical weather and constantly in the sauna did to him, he lost at least 30 lbs living here.:-)

His weight is going on a exponential curve since he went back to Illinois. The boy would not admit he is eating a lot of junk food and dairy product. But, I think he does. :-)

Currently he weighs 230lbs!

One of the reasons that I need to hasten the move to be united with him, before he needs to look up for a list of best diet pills. He needs a wife to watch his diet! :-)
