Visa interview and approved!

August 28th, 2008

Went for the visa interview at US consulate in KL today and it was approved. Will have to pick up the visa at the VFS office tomorrow afternoon.

I sent the big boy a text message and he called me back on my cell phone right after I got out from the consular office. I told him the visa was rejected because the  consular officer did not believe “real” couple could be separated for so long ( 22 months!!). He actually believed me and asked what we should do next. :-)

The liar is back or he never leaves

August 24th, 2008

Have not checked on the online bank account for some time. Just did that and found out the big boy still has not transferred the money to pay the visa application and buy air ticket, like he said he would since three weeks ago. Instead, he  went on a spending spree last few weeks, spending much of his last two paychecks on buying toys!! So much for promise not to buy another toy on Ebay.

Would you want to live with a person who could not keep his promise and lied through his teeth. What is more upset? He is not apologetic and called that “throwing tantrums” when confronted. I could close one eye to a lot of imperfections because no one is perfect, but would not tolerate and are tired of lies and broken promises. Would postpone the move indefinitely, until the issue is resolved and evidences of commitment is there. There is no point leaving my comfort zone and all that I have here for lies and broken promises.

Stockings to prevent pulmonary embolism

August 24th, 2008

Few months ago, I was hospitalized for a gynecologic surgery. The gynecologist Dr Eugene removed some cysts on the ovary and had done a biopsy on a hard cell found on the left ovary. The lab investigation on the biopsy cast doubt of malignancy. Dr Eugene followed up by scheduling me for a series of tests. Though the episode turned out to be a cancer scare, it’s good that the doubt is cleared!

The gynecologist Dr Eugene is a very careful and dedicated doctor. He came to checked on me right after the surgery. The next morning, he also came to ensure there is no blood clot, water detention and other complications. The nurses  encouraged me to wear the TED Stockings during recovery to avoid the danger of pulmonary embolism. They said pulmonary embolism can be significantly reduced through the use of this stockings.

Though fully recovered now and don’t wear this specially made stockings anymore,  I still wear the normal stocking  in the house as the floor feel so cold when you don’t after being used to wear stockings. :-)

Exercise routine for backache

August 24th, 2008

My friend PL was here few weeks ago. She has the same backache problems due to spine degeneration. She shared with me some exercise routine that her physio therapist taught her. She has been doing the exercises for the past couple of months. and her backache problem has improved a lot since then.

The exercises look like some of the pilates exercises. They are not too difficult to follow. I have been doing them for the past three weeks, not everyday, but whenever I remembered. My backache problem hasn’t been bothering much lately, may be the exercises are really helpful!!
